HOME                 accommodation

Situated at the bottom of a hill below the picturesque village of Biot, Camping du Pylone is ideally located 15 minutes from Nice Airport.

It is a well presented campsite set out more like a holiday village. Not ramshackle like so many others, but in orderly rows with plenty of trees for much needed shade during the height of the season.

With EasyJet and Jet2 both flying into Nice, it means air travel is very affordable. And by prior arrangement you can be met at the airport and delivered to your holiday home. There are many mobile homes for rent as well as camping plots for those of you who are just passing by, where you can pitch your tents or park your motor homes and towing caravans. The site has a Restaurant / Bar where the Food and service are excellent, whether you eat in or takeaway. With a choice of either the a la carte menu, or the value for money of two set menu’s, there is something for everyone. The bar’s veranda is the place for any evening entertainment that takes place, making it the hub of the site where friends can meet up after the rigors of the day and have a sociable drink. They have Live music, Disco’s, Karaoke and various entertainment nights. There is also a mini supermarket, Bakery and a Pizzeria (open high Season) where

pizza’s are baked in a traditional wood burning oven.

For things to do onsite during the day there is a playing field, volleyball court, basketball hoop, outdoor table tennis tables, boules, kids play area as well as adult and children’s swimming pools. For the pools you have to pay a nominal fee during July and August as they employ a life guard for your safety. Or perhaps something more relaxing is required, then how about a massage at the massage hut.

There are also many local attractions within a few hundred metres of the campsite. The main one is Marineland.

This is well worth a visit - Here you can see

Killer Whale and Dolphin shows, as well as

a walk through the shark tunnel which allows

you to see them up close, as they swim over

your head. There are also plenty of other

aquatic species such as penguins and Sea

Lions to see, as you wander around. As part of the same complex, there is Aqua Splash a water slide park, La Petite Ferme du Far West a look at the old days of the Wild West, The Magic Island of Birds a realm in which birds can fly freely around you and Adventure Golf. You can buy either individual park tickets or combination tickets allowing you access to more than one of the attractions. Closer to site there is also a Fun Fair which opens mainly for high season, but also some weekends and Bank Holidays prior to this, and for the adults, La Siesta a Casino and night club. Apart from all these attractions there is the beach which is approximately 300 metres from the camp.

And for those of you wanting to venture further a field you couldn’t be better placed, with bus stops and Biot train station 150 yards from the main gate. It makes the perfect starting point for exploring the Riviera. The train runs the length of the Cote D’Azur, all the way from Ventimiglia in Italy where every Friday they hold a big outdoor market, and is the best place to get cheap Leather goods, alcohol and cigarettes to Saint Raphael, passing through Menton which is a beautiful little town, reportedly the hottest place on the Riviera.

Monaco / Monte Carlo home of one of the most majestic Casino’s in the world, helping to make it the playground to the rich and famous. With plenty of other things to see including the changing of the guard outside the Palace, Princess Grace’s tomb, the Oceanographic museum and of course, the most famous Grand Prix in the world.

Eze a fortified village crowned with ruins of a 12th century castle.            Nice - Cours Saleya in the old village, houses a huge flower and food market in the mornings, surrounded on all sides by cafes and restaurants.  Parc Phoenix located opposite the airport is a great place for all the family.

Antibes is an active town and port, popular with tourists and home to many museums.

Juan les Pins – Only 5 minutes and two stops away has one of the finest beaches on the Riviera. This is a great place to spend the evening, visiting the many cocktail bars, having “sex on the beach” while waiting for a “tequila sunrise”.

Then there is Cannes - During the weeks of the Famous Film Festival, you can wander around and rub shoulders with the Stars. It is also great for shopping, with many designer shops intermingled with the more affordable. Also from here you can make your way to Grasse, which is famed for its perfume factories, where you can see how they are made before buying at a reduced price. Alternatively if you are feeling a bit lazy, but still want to go travelling, then you can take advantage of the many excursions provided by people around the campsite.
